Frequently asked questions

Short, clear answers about Central Command — for teams, search engines and assistants.

FAQ

Product, multi-instance, sync, workflows, access and target audiences.

What is Central Command?

A web-based command center for Lexware instances with connections to Clockify and Timebutler. It shows vouchers, revenue and team data centrally instead of in many tabs.

How is it different from the Lexware interface?

Lexware remains the system of record. Central Command bundles multiple instances and adds time tracking, approvals and operational workflows in one control layer.

Does Central Command replace Lexware?

No. Lexware remains the leading source for accounting and vouchers. Central Command orchestrates overview, prioritization and integrations on top — without replacing Lexware.

Who is Central Command built for?

For agencies, studios, holdings and finance/ops teams in Germany that work with multiple Lexware tenants or companies and need central control.

What does multi-instance mean?

Multiple Lexware instances or tenants are connected in parallel. Teams can filter down to one instance or keep the overall view of open items, revenue and statuses.

Is the platform designed for Germany?

Yes. Language, Lexware focus and typical agency and SME processes target the German market. The domain is centralcommand.de — this English version lives under /en/.

Which systems are integrated?

Lexware via the Public API, Clockify for time tracking and Timebutler for absences. There are also incoming invoices plus PDF and invoice schedules.

Do I have to use Clockify and Timebutler?

No. Lexware multi-instance works on its own. Clockify and Timebutler add time tracking, approvals and employee statistics if those systems are already in use.

How fresh is the data in the dashboard?

Data arrives via sync jobs in local caches. Dashboards stay fast and spare the Lexware API. Freshness depends on sync interval, watermarks and API limits.

What are PDF and invoice schedules?

Scheduled workflows for recurring PDF exports and invoice delivery. They make routine plannable instead of managing it manually in an inbox or calendar.

Can I view incoming invoices and accounts?

Yes. Central Command supports incoming invoices as well as account and credit card overviews in the protected app area — in addition to outgoing vouchers and revenue.

How is access secured?

The public website stays open. The app area sits behind a login (JWT) and can additionally be protected by Basic Auth at server level. API keys are stored server-side only.

How do I get to the application?

The homepage and this FAQ stay public. The protected app area is only accessible to authorized users.

Where can I find term definitions?

In the glossary. Each term has a short definition and a detailed page — useful for teams, SEO and assistants.

What happens with Lexware API limits?

Central Command respects rate limits and works with caches and staggered syncs. Overviews stay usable without putting unnecessary load on the Lexware Public API.
