A Lexware instance is a specific Lexware account or tenant connected to Central Command. Each instance has its own vouchers and usually its own API key. Organizationally, it often corresponds to a legal entity, a client mandate, or a clearly delimited accounting unit.
Central Command stores instance metadata, synchronizes vouchers, and shows metrics per instance or aggregated. Sync intervals, errors, and watermarks can differ per instance. That is why monitoring and clear naming of instances matter for daily operation.
The Lexware instance is the atomic building block of the multi-instance promise. Without clean instances there is no reliable overall view. With them comes the ability to keep tenants separate and still steer them centrally — precisely the core of Central Command.
